The Bygdin to Bitihorn route is a classic route near Beitostølen, on the border of Vang and Øystre Slidre. The panoramic view from the top of Bitihorn, with a height of 1607 m. above sea level, makes it one of the most visited viewpoints in Valdres.

We will arrive at Gjendebu, and after the initial climb, we will walk on flat and easy terrain through the Svartdalen, which means
“The Black Valley”, which is said to be the most beautiful valley in Jotunheimen. In the last section, the majestic Knutsholstind mountain with 2342 meters high known as the King of the Gjende Alps will accompany us, and as we get closer to the end of the route, we will find slopes of birch trees and green meadows.

Besseggen is undoubtedly one of Norway’s most famous hikes and mountain ridges. The spectacular panorama with the Gjende and Bessvatnet lakes separated by this small mountain ridge and 400 meters from each other, is impressive. The first of them, long and narrow, emerald green in color, we will cross with the boat to reach the beginning of the route.
We will start the route with an initial climb from Memurubu, after which the path flattens out to reach the path called La Franja and the ridge. To get to Gjendesheim, we also cross the Veslefjell mountain or Besseggen Roof, the highest part of the route at 1,743 meters.

The route to reach it from Hjelle is through the Utladalen valley, which is located within the landscape protection area of the same name, in the municipality of Ardal. On the trail we will see other waterfalls such as Hjellefossen, Avdalsfossen and Høljafossen, the latter with emerald green colors.

Lunch and departure by bus to Flåm, going through the largest road tunnel in the world with 24.5 km in length, the L ærdal tunnel. Arriving in this picturesque town, we will embark to sail through the Næroy Fjord to Bergen. Note: The itinerary can be done in one direction or another without distinction. For logistics reasons in the country, some location or accommodation may change without prior notice. This does not usually happen, but Norway is one of the world destinations with the greatest increase in travelers in recent years and on certain occasions we have had to make small changes on the fly for external reasons. This does not affect the visits to be made and the guides always try to include as much as possible.
