An exclusive route in which we travel through the spectacular Lofoten Islands, located above the Arctic Circle, with totally wild landscapes formed by steep mountains that plunge into deep fjords. This spectacular landscape and the mild temperatures make this archipelago the perfect place to see and photograph the Northern Lights in all their splendor. In addition, we add a multitude of experiences, such as spending an afternoon with a Sami family and visiting their reindeer farm, visiting picturesque fishing villages such as Å and Reine, learning more about Viking culture, or staying in the fishermen’s cabins , known as rorbuer. Without forgetting a visit to the nickname ‘Paris of the North’, the city of Tromsø and winter activities such as riding a snowmobile or driving a sleigh pulled by huskies.

Itinerary

Welcome to Tromso! Lying 69 degrees north, Tromsø is 320 km above the Arctic Circle. Visitors are surprised to discover that this city has hotels of international standards, lively cafes, world-class seafood restaurants, an active cultural life, exciting nightlife, captivating museums and art galleries. Transfer from the airport in regular Airport Express service (possibility of booking a private transfer with a supplement). Depending on the arrival time, rest of the day free.

Accommodation in Tromso.

Breakfast and early in the morning we will transfer, together with our guide, to the port to take the Expressboat or fast boat to Harstad through the Andfjorden fjord.

Upon arrival, we will have the opportunity to visit the Trondenes peninsula to discover its Church, one of the most important built in stone from medieval times, as well as other vestiges of the Viking era and World War II. Next, we will go to Sortland, the largest town in the Vesterålen Islands, with its beautiful Blåbrygge pier with blue houses, where we will have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit a Saami family, dedicated to reindeer herding, which will tell us everything related to their culture, customs and folklore while we have coffee around the fire in their lavvu. We will feed the reindeer and get to know these impressive creatures more closely.

At night, if we are lucky and the necessary conditions are met, we will go in search of the Northern Lights with our guide.

Trollfjord is short and narrow, but it is surrounded by high mountains that exceed 1,100 meters in height. After equipping ourselves, we will take a speedboat that will take us through the Øyhellsundet strait, to Raftsundet and finally, to the magnificent fjord. This has a large population of sea eagles, the largest in the world, with a wingspan of more than 2.5 meters; we will be able to see them orbit above our heads.

In the afternoon, we will visit one of the one of the most famous panoramic roads in Norway, with more than 200 km that crosses the Lofoten Islands from north to south, the picturesque King Olav V Route. We will cross emblematic fishing villages of the archipelago observing how Norwegians have been able to adapt to a totally wild and hostile. On the way, we will make a stop at the Borg Viking Museum where we will learn about the culture of this beautiful archipelago and its strong connection to the Viking age.

Accommodation in Leknes or surroundings

Breakfast. We will continue along the route of King Olav V and we will enter the island of Moskenesøya, the most spectacular and rugged of all of them, admiring one of the most impressive landscapes in the north and interrupted by islands and islets that are mixed with high mountains and beautiful fjords. We will start the day by walking until we reach a wonder of nature, the hidden beach of Kvalvika, or “the beach of the whales”.

Here we will enjoy a panoramic view that will leave us speechless, with views of its paradisiacal crystalline turquoise waters and white sand. After our walk we will go to the most picturesque towns on the island. We will visit the town of Reine, considered the most beautiful in all of Lofoten, with its old houses of such an intense red color that they make it indescribable and later, we will head to Å, the most isolated and remote town in the archipelago where we will see how fishing and traditional uses are still alive, with its cod drying facilities.

Accommodation in Leknes or surroundings.

After breakfast we will dedicate part of the morning to one of the winter activities in Norway par excellence, we will do a snowshoe excursion. Once we have equipped ourselves, we will go out to admire the beauty of the arctic landscape walking between lakes and mountains on powder snow. Upon returning and after recovering strength, departure to Narvik, surrounding the Moysalen NP, a destination surrounded by a beautiful landscape and an exciting history linked to the Second World War. In the immediate vicinity of this city, one of the largest naval battles took place, where the allied forces of Great Britain, France, Norway and Poland experienced their first victory over Nazi Germany. We will reach the city through the Hålogalandbrua bridge to cross the Rombakenfjord.

Accommodation in Narvik or surroundings.

After breakfast, we will leave for Tromsø but on the way, we will make a stop to become a Musher for a day. We’re going to learn how to harness and assemble equipment, and how to drive a husky sled on a fun and easy trail in the stunning Målselv mountain area.

At the end, and after recovering strength in the camp, we continue our trip to Tromsø.

Accommodation in Tromso.

Breakfast. Today we will travel to the Signaldalen valley, to our base camp, where upon arrival, we will equip ourselves with warm clothes and review the safety instructions before taking the motorcycle. They will also give us a practical demonstration. And when we are ready, we will begin our journey between mountains and snowy valleys; We will drive in pairs and we will change places during the tour.

At the end of the activity, we will have a hot meal and have free time to enjoy other activities.

Wear comfortable and waterproof clothing, it does not matter if it is summer or winter. Include comfortable footwear such as boots with good grip and travel with several changes of socks. It is convenient to take an umbrella if you go in the rainy season, and if you travel in winter, take warm clothes and a windbreaker.
